Commercial Ground Works Ltd is a small groundwork business run by Steven Foster. Because we are a small firm we can provide a consistently high quality service as Steven is on site to oversee every project from start to finish. We specialise in commercial groundwork, civil engineering, cable ducting work, concrete floor slabs, roads and concrete bases, etc.
Steven has over 20 years experience in the ground works business. Here's a little of his background.
"I left school at 16 and spent 10 years working on large cross country pipeline projects. Throughout these 10 years I worked on building reservoirs, pumping stations and treatment works mostly for United Utilities. As a civil engineer, I was involved in all aspects of civil engineering from large scale excavations, driving up to 35 tonne excavators, concreting, pipe laying, laying kerbs, fencing, drystone and mortar walling.
At 26 I went to Adelaide in Australia for a year and worked for a large construction company. This involved working at Adelaide Airport and other groundwork & civil engineering jobs around the city. When I returned to the UK I set up my own groundwork business. My first large contract was laying foundations and concrete floor slabs for over 40 houses, as well as laying all the kerbs and drainage on the new estate.
Since then the business has gone from strength to strength, undertaking numerous landscaping, groundwork and cable ducting jobs. In 2009 I gained a contract working on a reservoir in Kendal, Cumbria and laying cable ducting to over 70 camera bases and also laying five access road to the cameras.
I can undertake all types of groundwork, excavations and cable ducting, and having a compact digger, can carry out groundworks in very tight spaces and small access areas.
